    Life & Lemons

I give up. I’ve been trying to write a post about why I don’t want to talk about writing, but I think I’ll just be straightforward. It has nothing to do with the state of the world. I had a long overdue public meltdown about writing crap at the beginning of the year. Though, honestly, while I know it isn’t true, I’ve been feeling very much like I’m not allowed to be upset about anything. This mentality might actually be making everything worse. So here I am. Complaining about writing again. I’m not apologizing for it. There are a lot of things I’m dealing with right now. I’d rather not…

    Writing Life: Experimentation Files

Sometimes when I’m in an experimenting mood I feel like I take it too far. Like, a story set 1000 years in the future sounds super fun! But sometimes it’s too much at once. I get overwhelmed and then curl into a ball and quit. So I decided to try experimenting in a different kind of way. It’s not that I feel like I can’t write a story set in the future. It’s that I need to figure out how to do that without getting overwhelmed. I have a story set 500 years in the future, I think, and tackling all the world building was fun, but it was also…

    January 2020 Wrap Up

Update time! 😀 So…I meant to read one more novel than I did this month, but one of the books I’m shuffling is just hard on my brain, so I’m having to take frequent breaks and read something less taxing, which is working out really well and making that book fun to read again. I’m desperate to know what’s going on, but it’s not getting anywhere fast, and I’m dying. On a random note, I’m trying to be more decisive this year, because some random Chinese Zodiac expert I found via an in-game ad told me that Rats are in for a good year if they can stay focused on…

November Reads & Final NaNoWriMo Tally

Hiya! Obviously, I didn’t get much reading done this month because of NaNoWriMo, which is totally okay, because as of this posting, I only have two books left to read for the year to meet my goal, and I’m sure I can manage that. 😀 I’m honestly surprised I got anything read this month. When I wasn’t writing or working or forcing myself to go to bed at a decent hour, I was binging Gotham on Netflix. ^_^ 57: Manga Classics: Dracula Author: Bram Stoker, Adapted by: Stacy King, Illustrated by: Virginia Nitouhei Genre: Manga, Horror Rating: 5 stars Reviewed: Yes So satisfying!! I hadn’t read this in so long,…

    NaNoWriMo Update!

GUYS!! ^_^ Things are still going well! Things are actually going well! I can hardly believe it. 😀 Current word count: 33,896 I’m expecting the first draft to end up on the shorter side, maybe around 60k, but we’ll see. I have a “finished” mini outline. I say “finished” because I thought it was finished last time, and then I realized that I had three Mondays in a row, and well, that doesn’t happen in real life outside of a metaphorical sense. And also, I had to rearrange things because there was a minor change in the story, of course. I can’t wait to be in editing mode. This is…
