    Cover Reveal: Winter’s Siren!

GUYS! LOL! First off, can I get some kudos on that banner? 😛 So, before I get to the cover, I wanted to chat a tiny bit about the process. 😀 With my last novel, I had one concept idea. Of course, I thought of one or two other things, but I didn’t like any of the mental images better than the one I went with. This time, I had several ideas! Well, I had four. 🙂 I gave my cover designer three, and she came back with the two she thought would be the most striking. What you’ll see below is concept number one. It’s the second concept I…

    Official Publishing News & Stuff

‌Hey, hey! Firstly, I’m over at Crystal Collier’s today for the Truth & Lie Game! Hop over and laugh at how many times I’ve gotten lost. ^_^ Next up: Announcement Time: “Winter’s Siren” has an official release date and an official blurb! More on that later. I first want to talk a little bit about confidence and gut checking. ^_^ When I made the decision to publish NO REST FOR THE WICKED, the original plan was to wait for my beta to tell me it wasn’t trash and THEN make a decision. But it was like, I either think that thing is good or I don’t. The notes should only serve…

    V is for Villain

One of my greatest writing pleasures is meeting a new villain! They are some of my most favorite people in all of fiction – books, movies, tv shows. So much so that I used to have a problem with my antagonists overshadowing the main characters. If anyone has ever found themselves in a similar situation, we fix that pairing the villains with more interesting “heroes.” People who are just as fascinating, if not more. In my current project, who the “bad guy” is a little harder to decipher than usual. Dare I say, I don’t have a “bad guy” in the story at all! It’s a matter of interpretation, of course,…

Dance of the Queue Fairy – Part Two

My story backlog has gotten pretty ridiculous thanks to spending a great deal of time in a neurotic sweat hut. It’s been hard for me to focus, but I found a quote the other day that said, “Motivation comes from within.” Which means, only I could find it. So, I did. Thanks largely to my family putting up with my mood swings and giving me copious amounts of hugs. ^_^ Right now, of course, I’m working on “Winter’s Siren” – a retelling of a classic tale that is going well and should be done by the end of this month! More deets on the inspiration at a later date. I worried that this…

Dance of the Setting Fairy – Part Two

In true me fashion, I changed what story I’m going to work on next after making an official announcement. Lol! I’ve been working on the current project for a few weeks now, but it’s not “The Puppet Box” as I originally intended, in case you didn’t notice its absence in the sidebar. Despite the fact that probably half of the story was already outlined, I have had to change a few things, and those changes have rendered the outline largely, but not entirely, unusable. I was dying to write and didn’t want to wait on a fix, so it’s been pushed back. But everything is good now, and it will very possibly…
