This Year’s Blogoversay Post
It’s anniversary month here at The Narcissistic Rose! Not only is my blog 7 years old!! But I also tag July as the month I finished my very first novel. I don’t actually remember when I finished this book, and I didn’t bother to put a date anywhere in it, but July is the official month for simplicity’s sake. So when it comes around, I like to celebrate! Last year, unbeknownst to the general public, I wrote FIVE different anniversary posts before settling on the one I posted in which I did a blurb reveal for HOUSE OF FALLING EMBERS. Truth be told, I was in a BAD mood this…

Release Day Party: Whisper!
To celebrate the release of my third book baby 😀 I decided to make a list of some things I made notes for that never made it into the book. 😀 One: Wallace Enterprises I had planned a rivalry between Wallace Enterprises and Xacharias Corp from the start. It was always a side plot, but it was one that stressed Jade’s father out a whole lot and was the source of some of his snippiness. When I actually got into the story, though, he was snippy for an entirely different reason, and Wallace Enterprises only gets a tiny, tiny mention in a scene where Jade is describing something she saw…

Quitter Diaries + Cover Reveal (Whisper Edition)
GUYS!! LOL! So, I have some thoughts I wanted to chat about today. Last month, just a couple of weeks ago, I had a moment. I was tired. I was cold. I didn’t want to edit. I didn’t even want to write anymore. This wasn’t brought on by anything in particular. Editing was going well. The sky didn’t fall on me. Side effect of being burnt out? As I was sitting there, feeling so sad about nothing, I told myself that I didn’t want to write anymore. And per usual, when this happens, I replied, “So don’t.” I gave myself permission to do nothing. No editing. Nothing productive. The next…

#WriterWoes
In lieu of a publishing update, since I don’t have anything new to say, I’m going to do a general writing update, because I have some stuff to say! Okay, so, don’t congratulate me, but I finished a draft of “The Puppet Box” on the 18th. I’ve moved the project to “On Hold,” which means I’m thinking seriously of trashing it. I’m not happy. I have theories. Like, I couldn’t sleep while I was writing this. I have chronic on and off insomnia, but it got quite ridiculous. A few things helped, but ultimately, nothing can override a restless brain. As soon as I set the story aside, I started…

Dance of the Queue Fairy – Part Two
My story backlog has gotten pretty ridiculous thanks to spending a great deal of time in a neurotic sweat hut. It’s been hard for me to focus, but I found a quote the other day that said, “Motivation comes from within.” Which means, only I could find it. So, I did. Thanks largely to my family putting up with my mood swings and giving me copious amounts of hugs. ^_^ Right now, of course, I’m working on “Winter’s Siren” – a retelling of a classic tale that is going well and should be done by the end of this month! More deets on the inspiration at a later date. I worried that this…
