    Let’s Talk

No big deal, but let’s talk, hmm? ^_^ So, I’ve debated on whether I should talk about this and how much to say, but this blog is, in part, a chronicle of my writing journey, and I want to be able to talk openly about writing-related things and not tip-toe around stuff or pretend like everything is okay. Long story short, I’m not self-publishing anymore. In a nutshell, it’s a stress issue. I never intended for writing to become an expensive hobby that I get little joy out of, but it happened. I underestimated the toll being responsible for everything would take on me. And I also thought I would…

Let’s Talk About Being A Miserable Writer

All right. I’ve tried four times now to write this post without it being super long, so let’s try a different approach. 😀 For starters, I changed projects and signed it up for NaNoWriMo. I’m not typically a fast starter, so this might not go well, but I’m doing a rewrite, like a complete, from scratch, rewrite so maybe that will help? I signed up with this project in 2015, but didn’t end up participating because I couldn’t get myself together. I’m 100% ready to start this time, but we’ll see. For the official record: working name of the project is “The Inescapable.” Version one was written early 2016, and…

    Poetry and Such

GUYS! 😀 I has news! …kinda, sorta, whatever, dontlookatme. >.< So, you may or may not know that around two and a half years ago I had half a mind to publish a book of poems. I never set a deadline for this project, and it was quite easy to push aside, but I did expect to publish it one day. And well…I’m crazy close to my goal. As of this posting, I have the 100 or so poems I wanted, and I don’t know if they’ll all make the final cut, but I’m trying not to be paranoid about it. If I cut something, I want it to be because…

    Writing & Marketing & Overwhelm

Last week, I had no less than 75 tabs open across all of my devices. It might go without saying, but I was past the point where this was stressing me out. You might be wondering what all these tabs were. A few were things like my WordPress feed that I leave open every day or tabs I didn’t need open anymore and just forgot to close. Most were publishing and marketing articles, and honestly, the vast majority of them were not even helpful. To minimize future stress, the number of tabs allowed open on my computer going forward is 15, and the max on my mobile devices is 7.…

    Book Writing: Technical Stuff

First thing I wanted to say is that I’M FINISHED!! Sorry headphone users. Haha. I’m 100% finished with WINTER’S SIREN which is insanely exciting. There’s not much going on in the bittersweet department because I realized after I finished my last book that I can read it again whenever I want. Imagine that. 😀 Copies have been ordered for me to paw at, hug, and give away. And I have eBook preorders up everywhere except Amazon, and that will be up around the 1st of October. SO excited! I feel like it took me forever to proofread, format, and do a final read-through. I know if I told you how…
