The Yes, I’m Doing NaNoWriMo Post

I actually decided about a week into the month to just take October off and chill and get my neuroticism under control. I fell into a slump, and I just let it happen. Maybe it needed to happen. I never did take August off like I had originally planned, and I was getting stressed out trying to juggle all my ideas and settle on two to focus on. Every time I settled on two, a third (or fourth or fifth) idea would pop up and demand attention. As it happens sometimes, I ended up doing none of them. Lol! So I gave myself until the end of the month to…

    Lions and Tigers and Bears

Okay, so a person or three might remember a post of unknown name sometime last year in which I was freaking out over having a first person story on my plate for the first time in well, awhile. Not one who likes to be defeated, I decided I would accept the universe’s challenge and take on the onslaught of first person POV stories that it was sending my way. First I tried with a futuristic fantasy, but for reasons that won’t fit on this page, that story is still onĀ hold. (It has nothing to do with the POV though.) So I tried again with my NaNo ’13 project. Um…didn’t finish…

You Need A Break, My Friend

I love writing. It’s my favoritest thing to do in the world. But like anything, if one thing is all you ever do, it will drive you bat crazy. Thus enter the “other interests.” Because we all have other things we enjoy doing. While I would love to dive into one project after the other, these breaks don’t just give me time to dive into some of my other interests for a while, they also help me write when I get back to it. They clear my mind and some of these hobbies even earn me a gratuitous amount of compliments. It’s always good to hear that you’re awesome, am…

    Overthinker’s Anonymous & Mid-NaNoWriMo (2013) Update

Hello, my name is Krystal, and I think too much. cue chorus of drones “Hi, you!” I had a very bad day this past weekend (I’m honestly crazy so it happens), and I was up late writing a rather intense, and seriously creepy scene at 3 am to the hum of the HVAC, and I thought, “How have I never been able to write scenes like this before?” Now, I had a lot of fun, new things in my last story, and some really intense scenes, but nothing quite like this. So the next day I was still down (and now sleep deprived) and thinking/obsessing about it, and I realized:…

    NaNoWriMo (2013) Update #1

Update Time! So, I hit a slight bump Day 2. Chapter 2 wasn’t popping on the page like I would like. Since I was 2 days ahead already, I did what they tell you not to do. I stopped and edited it. (Although one of the pep talks this week did challenge us all to be rule breakers! Yeah! Screw the Rules!) But I didn’t make this decision on my own. The infamous Internal Editor showed up to tempt guide me. Me: Hmm. (scratches head) Something’s off here. Internal Editor: You introduced the antagonist too early. Me: Did I? (does quick run through of the plot) Hmm. Yeah, that scene…
