    Reading Challenge Graveyard

I started doing Goodreads Reading Challenges in 2015. In 2014, I read probably 7 books. I don’t remember exactly, but I mention this because in 2015, I set what I thought was a super conservative, easy to reach goal of 13 books. I read two. TWO books. So embarrassing. What kind of bookworm was I?!! I was finally forced to confront my reading issues face to face, which was why I’d dragged on signing up for the challenge in the first place. Getting My TBR Under Control

The Goodreads TBR is not a reflection of all the books on my TBR. It’s only a reflection of books on my TBR that I don’t own. I figured, if I own the book, I should remember to read it. That helped with a fraction of the list. As of writing this, my Goodreads TBR is 174, down from 479. You might be wondering what all these tabs were. A few were things like my WordPress feed that I leave open every day or tabs I didn’t need open anymore and just forgot to close. Most were publishing and marketing articles, and honestly, the vast majority of them were not even helpful. To minimize future stress, the number of tabs allowed open on my computer going forward is 15, and the max on my mobile devices is 7.…

    Goodreads Reading Challenge

Okay, confession. I did technically beat my reading goal of 16 last year by one whole “book.” However, three or four of my books were Dr. Seuss books, cause I love me some Dr. Seuss and read some new ones this last year. One was a book I just skimmed. At least three reads were really freaking short. And last, but not least, one book was started the previous year, and I had gotten at least a third, if not half of the way through it by then. Ahem. Needless to say, it’s a high priority to beat that this year. I get so jealous of people who read like 50+…
