    Release Day Party: Whisper!

To celebrate the release of my third book baby 😀 I decided to make a list of some things I made notes for that never made it into the book. 😀 One: Wallace Enterprises I had planned a rivalry between Wallace Enterprises and Xacharias Corp from the start. It was always a side plot, but it was one that stressed Jade’s father out a whole lot and was the source of some of his snippiness. When I actually got into the story, though, he was snippy for an entirely different reason, and Wallace Enterprises only gets a tiny, tiny mention in a scene where Jade is describing something she saw…

Writing Multiple Point of Views + Winter’s Siren Release Day!

Given how WINTER’S SIREN (out today!!) has two POVs, I’ve been thinking about how dual POV stories differ from single and other multiple POV stories. In 2011, I was working on a story that had four POVs and for some reason I thought a fifth POV was a good idea for two scenes. Ugh. Old me. HAHA. Anywho, two of the POVs took place in the past – everything was supposed to connect later in book two (again, ugh, old me!) – but I ended every one of those past POVs on a cliffhanger. Namely because I was breaking a complete story up into pieces. It would have been much…

Formatting Tales + A Cover Reveal (The Elysian Prophesy)

Hey!! Dudes! After having a meltdown over formatting (haha), I finally used my brain and rewatched some of the YouTube videos I found so helpful last September. Because I was thinking, “Surely someone talked about formatting.” And they did! About the meltdown (bless my family, right?), I was trying to use a free trial of InDesign along with a template and a video tutorial. Yeah, no. It was so not something I could figure out in a reasonable amount of time. And before that experience, I tried to use a few different templates and MS Word. Maybe they’re all fine and it’s just me, but those accompanying videos sounded like gibberish.…

The Art of Patience & Timeless – Giveaway & Cover Reveal

Reading can sometimes be a curious thing. I can’t say I spend a lot of time analyzing the books I read, at least not as I’m reading them. But what strikes me a lot in the stories I love are how patient they are. When I started off in the land of writing novels, I rushed everything. I wrote 150 page “novels” back then, to give you an idea of what I mean. Even though things are much better now and I’ve stopped writing like a rabid dog is chasing me, I’m still struck by how patient some writers are. How complete the endings are. How thought out and detailed everything…
