Cover Reveal: No Rest for the Wicked!

Whoo! It’s shiny cover reveal day at The Narcissistic Rose! ^_^ First some shout-outs to Xpresso Book Tours, the participating bloggers, and my writing friends for being awesome and helping me spread the book love today! ^_^ The cover was designed by the great team at NajlaQamberDesigns.com – referred to me by fellow indie author and writing genie Jodi Perkins. 😀 Fun side note: I’m usually the kind of person who has all kinds of fun brainstorming mock covers for my projects. I quite literally have cover ideas for nearly everything that’s currently in the brainstorming phase. On this story, however, I had no idea what I wanted. Not only that,…

Formatting Tales + A Cover Reveal (The Elysian Prophesy)

Hey!! Dudes! After having a meltdown over formatting (haha), I finally used my brain and rewatched some of the YouTube videos I found so helpful last September. Because I was thinking, “Surely someone talked about formatting.” And they did! About the meltdown (bless my family, right?), I was trying to use a free trial of InDesign along with a template and a video tutorial. Yeah, no. It was so not something I could figure out in a reasonable amount of time. And before that experience, I tried to use a few different templates and MS Word. Maybe they’re all fine and it’s just me, but those accompanying videos sounded like gibberish.…

Cover Reveal: Ballad of the Beanstalk (Amy McNulty)

Today, author Amy McNulty is revealing the cover for her latest novel, Ballad of the Beanstalk, a YA romantic fantasy fairy tale prequel. I have such a soft spot for fairy tales! Cover created by Makeready Designs. BLURB: As her fingers move across the strings of her family’s heirloom harp, sixteen-year-old Clarion can forget. She doesn’t dwell on the recent passing of her beloved father or the fact that her mother has just sold everything they owned, including that very same instrument that gives Clarion life. She doesn’t think about how her friends treat her like a feeble, brittle thing to be protected. She doesn’t worry about how to tell the elegant…

The Art of Patience & Timeless – Giveaway & Cover Reveal

Reading can sometimes be a curious thing. I can’t say I spend a lot of time analyzing the books I read, at least not as I’m reading them. But what strikes me a lot in the stories I love are how patient they are. When I started off in the land of writing novels, I rushed everything. I wrote 150 page “novels” back then, to give you an idea of what I mean. Even though things are much better now and I’ve stopped writing like a rabid dog is chasing me, I’m still struck by how patient some writers are. How complete the endings are. How thought out and detailed everything…

Hey, there, folks! I have a super gorgeous and shiny cover to show off for you today courtesy of the multi-talented Jodi Perkins! **** Topaz Aevos can make things fall with a single glance. Desperate for help, Stryder unwittingly drags Taz into the curse with him. Now both…
