    WIPMarathon Check-In #8 (December/January)

Hey!! One week left! Last Word Count + Chapter Count: 19841 words, Chapter 7 Current WC + CC: 37977 words, Chapter 11 WIP Issues this week: I worry about random stuff, but I didn’t really have any issues this week. The new(ish) direction is going well. This story has a sequel and the wheels are finally spinning on that, so hopefully I’ll be able to write it soon. This sequel is one of the reasons I haven’t been able to give up on this story. I want to write it SO bad. 🙂 What I learned this week in writing: Nothing much new going on in the story, but 20…

    WIPMarathon Check-In #7 (December/January)

Hey there, awesome people! Last Word Count + Chapter Count: 7637 words, Chapter 3 Current WC + CC: 19841 words, Chapter 7 WIP Issues this week: Rewriting this story is harder than I thought it would be. I added a character (kind of), not really by choice. It was drag him along or kill him for no reason. Two pages into Chapter 4, he was getting in my way. However, I try to trust myself, and if my subconscious told me to put him in the story, I figured, there had to be a reason, yes? I did find one. (And a really good one!) But then I worried it…

    WIPMarathon Check-In #6 (December/January)

Hello! Last Word Count + Chapter Count: Preparation Stage for Untitled Project 90% Complete Current WC + CC: I didn’t finish my character interviews, but that’s because I started work on another story that was 100% ready to go. Yeah, I know. I’m really bad about story hopping when I’m between projects. BUT I got almost 8k words in this week!! WIP Issues this week: Mostly confidence. What I’ve been doing is (another) rewrite of the story I was first drafting this time last year. It has a lot of high fantastical elements (something I suck at), and we’ve gone through a lot, me and it (I’ve almost lost count of…

    Here & There

I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I don’t think I’m going to finish “The Winter of Analena Reichard.” I’m one of those people that once I get to a certain point, I will force myself to finish, even if I legitimately hate the story. I was so sure that wouldn’t be a problem this time. I was so excited when I started this story. I wasn’t going to think about submitting it or whether or not it was any good or not, or any of that stuff. And for awhile, I was on a roll. Then the unthinkable happened: I thought about that stuff. It was just…

    Query Letter Graveyard

I thought it would be fun to gather all of my previous submission attempts in one place. This is long, but you will be vastly entertained. ^_^ So, here are all my wonderfully fantastic Past Queries. Commentary provided by my awesome alter ego: Me, Myself, and I. Most Bios & “Thank yous for reading this” have been truncated for brevity. Also, the bios sucked. #1 – Query in the First Dear Ms. Agent, I read on your website that you are accepting query letters from a variety of genres, including Young Adullt (yep, sent it out with 2 ls – so, like…definitely needed to reread stuff before I sent it)…
