    August 2020 Reads

Hi-lo! What’s up, what’s up?! 😀 I was super determined to catch up on my reading goal, and I’m so so happy to report that I’m officially no longer behind! Cue confetti canyons!! My bookshelves are going in on Friday! So I’ll see how many books I can get up over the weekend so I can take pictures and talk about it. ^_^ But I have a lot of books I want to talk about, so enjoy. 😀 24: The Beholder Author: Anna Bright Genre: YA Alt History Fantasy Rating: 4 stars I’m a sucker for beautiful writing. ^_^ It’s hard to explain the setting for this book, because I…

    Finally Finished Some Books

Hi! (waves) Wow. I haven’t done one of these since March! I read in April and May but I didn’t finish anything. I read in June, and I finished one thing, and finally got some reading mojo back, and somehow, I didn’t fall grossly behind on my reading goal. I mean, I’m behind, but I’m not stressed about it. I was going to give myself a couple of more days to finish something else, but yeah, that’s not happening. Also, I’m taking a blogging break for a week or four. Maybe, probably. I’ll try. I’m as unpacked as I’m going to get without bookshelves, but they should be up by…

    Reading Challenge Graveyard

I started doing Goodreads Reading Challenges in 2015. In 2014, I read probably 7 books. I don’t remember exactly, but I mention this because in 2015, I set what I thought was a super conservative, easy to reach goal of 13 books. I read two. TWO books. So embarrassing. What kind of bookworm was I?!! I was finally forced to confront my reading issues face to face, which was why I’d dragged on signing up for the challenge in the first place. I didn’t want to know how bad it was. Since then, however, I’ve met the goal every year, even if it was just barely. 2016, I set a…

    I Has A Library Card!

For a long time, I had a library card. When I was a kid, this was amazing. I lived in the library. You think I’m joking. I am not. I would be at the library for so long that my mother would call and make sure I was still there. I have taken naps in the library. I would check out an armful of books every week. As many as they would lend me. These were glorious times that I think back on with much fondness. And when I first graduated from college, I would go to the library fairly regularly. Then I didn’t go so much, which I’ll get…

    March 2020 Updates

Hi! ^_^ This was a graphic novel heavy month, as I found myself kind of exhausted after finally finishing The Fireman, and while I really liked that book, it was long and exhausting, just like the last Joe Hill book I read, but I’m caught up on his novels now, graphic novels and anthologies aside. I tried to read a YA sci-fi that I picked up from the library. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, but I didn’t finish it because I didn’t care. The main character was smart, sure, but she was boring, and I’m 100% sure I had the entire plot figured out two pages into chapter three. Smart…
