    Dance of the Queue Fairy

So, I mentioned last week, I think, how I’ve already picked out the story to follow “The Puppet Box.” If you happened to stroll through the sidebar or the Writing Projects Garden, you will have seen it already, one working title “Winter’s Siren” aka “Songbird.” 😀 Yeah, I know, after all the hoop-la I spit about picking a next idea super early, I’ve gone and done it again. Well, if I don’t write this story I’ll die!! (Disclaimer: Krystal Jane is just being dramatic.)  Given how long it takes some of my ideas to grow into something writeable, I figured, why not force all super shiny ideas to the back…

    A Dip Into Organization Land

So, I went on record that 2015 was a pretty depressing year for writing. It’s the first year I didn’t finish a single project since I got off a 2 year accidental writing hiatus in 2011. And I spent a lot of time beating myself up for that. The thing is, if I had just stopped beating myself up, it wouldn’t have taken me so long to find a project I could stick with. Brainstorming Woes

Honestly, I don’t see how I ever come up with anything that makes any sense at all. But I keep trying, so guess who’s outlining the shiny idea I was talking about last week! Me! ^_^ It came with half a mountain of bumps, but somehow it ended up coming together. Originally, I was going to give the story to a character from my 2013 NaNo project, because she’s awesome. But problems quickly arose around that. She wasn’t working. The setting wasn’t working. The ending wasn’t working. There were too many complications, and it was getting way messy. There was blood everywhere. In typical me fashion, I gave up and searched for…

    Writing Update Time!

Whenever I start something new, there’s always a lot of initial editing and changing my mind and rewriting and moving things around. I usually end up with about three or four sections pasted into my word document that I’m trying rewrite or string together or incorporate into what I already have. Sometimes I have to pull scenes from another document or three because I remember how I had a few other trial openings saved in my story folder under different titles. It’s a freaking mess, but I secretly enjoy it. 🙂 I know there’s this strong suggestion in the writing world of just plunging ahead and not editing until you…
