    Random Life: Books & Unpacking

Guys!! There’s going to be a reading update next month! I’m hoping to finish one more book by month’s end. I don’t think that’s going to happen, but I’m excited to be reading with some consistency again. 😀 Especially since I’m not sure I can keep to my book spending goal. Like, I was trying to not buy too much more than 26 books this year, but it’s July, and I’m at 25. Technically, I’m over that, but I’m not counting some of them since I was buying them more for decoration, even though I’m totally planning on reading them as well. Lol! This goal is mostly to help me…

Hotel Life & Shopping For Stuff

So, I’ve been in hotels for two and a half weeks now. I say hotels because the first one was driving me kind of batty. I wasn’t trying to be a pampered diva, but between it being right in front of the interstate, the internet not working most of the time, and the super loud noises coming from the air conditioner, pipes, and refrigerator (like a persistent LOUD buzzing that lasted for hours at a time), I was feeling pretty stressed. On top of that, the bed wasn’t comfortable, and most nights, in the middle of the night, people would be out in the hallway fighting. And also, it wasn’t…

    Reading Challenge Graveyard

I started doing Goodreads Reading Challenges in 2015. In 2014, I read probably 7 books. I don’t remember exactly, but I mention this because in 2015, I set what I thought was a super conservative, easy to reach goal of 13 books. I read two. TWO books. So embarrassing. What kind of bookworm was I?!! I was finally forced to confront my reading issues face to face, which was why I’d dragged on signing up for the challenge in the first place. I didn’t want to know how bad it was. Since then, however, I’ve met the goal every year, even if it was just barely. 2016, I set a…

    Random Life Updates

So…I’m moving. I’m currently in a townhouse, and the plan is to move into a house with a manageable yard, even though I have zero intention to mow anything myself. In some ways, this was kind of a rash decision. I didn’t plan to move this year. When I started decluttering my house last month, it was specifically because I thought it would be at least another year before I moved, and I didn’t want to wait until then to start getting rid of stuff. But I have been wanting to move for two years, so actually, this was a totally un-rash decision. ^_^ I’m not exactly sure what part…

    KonMari-ing My House

So, whilst I was waiting for my computer, which did come in on Friday, and she’s beautiful, I watched Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix and decided to declutter my entire house. Obviously, I was being too ambitious for my own good. BUT, I had already started decluttering my desk, so I was so ready to motivate myself to do more. 😀 The KonMari Method, as it’s called, suggests tidying up by category instead of location, and you start with clothing and that involves taking ALL the clothes out, from wherever they are, and putting them all in a single location. She says the KonMari Method isn’t about minimalism,…
