    Drafting Update & Publishing News

GUYS!! I am so excited!! 😀 So. First. Drafting update. I am finally at peace with what to work on next. As in, I haven’t had a crisis in over a week. ^_^ I’m not going to say more until I’m past the 25k, continue or dump it, mark, but I will say this: sometimes the project you need to work on actually isn’t the one that’s screaming the loudest. Sometimes, maybe even most times, perhaps even all the time, it’s the one quietly popping up in the background while you’re wrestling with the bunnies of a loud and obnoxious nature. Just saying. This year, the plot bunny field has…

    Once There Was An Excerpt

🙂 The editing process is officially underway for HOUSE OF FALLING EMBERS, and I have an official release date: October 1, 2018! I can’t share a blurb yet. Blurb is not written. It’ll come with the cover though. Cover reveal to happen first of September. I normally have a blurb done by now, but I do have a plot summary of sorts in my notes somewhere. I’m not too far into editing, but getting the ball rolling is the absolute hardest part for me. Only gets more fun from here! And I love the story so far. 😛 I’m on the parts that make me laugh now, but I cried…

    Let’s Talk: Juggling Projects

Okay. Disclaimer. LOL! After all the bellyaching I did last year about juggling projects and how I burnt myself out and yada, yada, you would think I wouldn’t be about to say what I’m about to say. So, I’m going to try editing and drafting at the same time. I KNOW! But hear me out. LOL! My theory is that juggling projects the way I was last year doesn’t work, because I was trying to edit and draft in the same time slot: at night. So, I was constantly switching back and forth between laser focus and happy drafting mode, which is inarguably and considerably more relaxing and stuff. My…

    Adventures In Editing

Every time I’m in the editing cave, I learn something new about myself. This last go around, I’ve learned that I make a lot of mistakes when I write a story super fast. I know right. Who knew that could happen?! 😛 This isn’t necessarily a bad thing – after all, this is what editing rounds are for, to fix stuff. The good thing is that the mistakes were all pretty minor, meaning I didn’t have to do any major restructuring. The other good thing is that they were sticking out pretty bad. The annoying thing is that there were so many of them! Here are some examples: Forgetting that…

    Once Upon A Writing Update…

GUYS! LOL! I’m officially a paid author! ^_^ The first payment came in last week from Smashwords – others to follow. Cue balloons and streamers and stuff. 😀 I didn’t think I would be this excited, but here I am, being really excited. 😀 I finally get to claim writing income on my taxes. Haha. So, I have to set my current project aside for a week or so to edit “Winter’s Siren.” I’m excited to read that story again, but I really want to be drafting right now. I hate being interrupted while I’m drafting, which is kind of becoming the norm of late. But I need to get…
