Creative Project Hour
Bullet journaling isn’t quite for me, but I still love watching bullet journal videos. I’ve especially been drawn to reading-related bullet journals. They can get really elaborate! Painting, calligraphy, etc. It puts my reading notebook to shame! Which to date, has literally just been a list of books I’m planning on reading each month. When I do read the books I picked out, it’s pretty because I use different colored pens, but it’s also very unexciting. When I don’t read those books, I end up making a HUGE mess trying to write in the books I did read. For next year, I wanted to do something more exciting. Since I didn’t…

KonMari-ing My House
So, whilst I was waiting for my computer, which did come in on Friday, and she’s beautiful, I watched Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix and decided to declutter my entire house. Obviously, I was being too ambitious for my own good. BUT, I had already started decluttering my desk, so I was so ready to motivate myself to do more. 😀 The KonMari Method, as it’s called, suggests tidying up by category instead of location, and you start with clothing and that involves taking ALL the clothes out, from wherever they are, and putting them all in a single location. She says the KonMari Method isn’t about minimalism,…

Mini Makeover Files
After many months of putting it off, I finally changed the blog! Nothing dramatic, of course, obviously, I don’t like change. I tried to do something dramatic a couple of years ago, but it was too complicated, and it didn’t even fit my personality or anything. In my wildest website fantasies there’s an explosion of vines everywhere, but that would require someone who can actually build a website – i.e. not me – and this is a DIY project, so…no vines. Obviously I could have 2-D vines, and I tried to get that effect last time, but in fantasy land, the vines sway when you scroll. I know right? I…

Random Life: Changing One of My Goals Already
For some reason, I thought it would be a great idea to study a foreign language this year. To clarify, the goal of studying a language is not the problem. I took French for a year in high school. LOVED it. Then my parents moved to boonyville. They only had Spanish. So the one Spanish kid at school had to take Spanish. It’s so…a bunch of things. So I was forced to take Spanish with a teacher who was lovely, but who moved so slowly through the material that I thought I was going to lose my mind. She was literally supposed to move twice as fast because they’re on…

Adventures In Formatting A Poetry Book
Guys, I was in FORMATTING HELL last week!! Poetry is a beast messily slain for I had dull spears to fight with. 😛 One dull spear being the editing one, because I have legit never really edited poetry in my life. Sure, I sometimes change a line or two, but I’ve never rewritten that crap before. It was a good experience though, and I learned some things, mostly about myself. Lol! Creatively speaking, things have been at a standstill the last few weeks because I’ve been stressed about formatting the poetry book. I finally talked myself into sitting down one afternoon and figuring it out. It took me several hours…
