Release Day Party: Garden of Ravens

Poetry book is out today!! 😀 To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to go over the different sections and talk about them or whatever. ^_^ I organized things in a way that I thought would make sense or at least a way that made sense in my head. If you’ve been around the cafe for a while or have read any of my books, you might recognize a few poems, as everything that’s published on this blog or in a novel are also in this book. That might account for maybe ten poems, but they’re here. I’ve mentioned that I write song lyrics for fun sometimes, so some…

    July Reads: 2019 Edition

Happy August!! 😀 I’m still on track with my reading goal. I almost can’t believe it. ^_^ Plus, I did some beta reading last month, and I liked everything I read for the most part, so that’s awesome. 33: The Branch Author: Trinity Amethyst Genre: Graphic Novel Rating: 5 stars Reviewed: Yes Super cute snapshots of what it’s like to be a barista at a kid’s summer camp. It was a fun read and much needed on a day I was feeling kind of down for no good reason. I adored the illustrations in this, and you can tell how fun they are from the cover. 34: Stepsister Author: Jennifer…

May & June Reading Wrap Up (2019 Edition)

All righty, I finally feel like I’m not dragging my feet with the reading so much anymore. I think it really slows me down when I read stuff I don’t like. I just get all kinds of deflated. As it stands, I’m still on track for my goal, but I lost the nice lead I built up at the beginning of the year. Haha. I’m trying to tell myself that it’s okay if I don’t meet my goal. Like, if I only read 50 books, that’s still really good! Plus, I’m still two books ahead of schedule, so… ^_^ 27: I’m A Narwhal Author: Mallory Loehr, Illustrated by: Joey Chou…

    April Reading & Writing Update

Updates Time!! 😀  I had another sad reading month. Lol! Four books read and I didn’t really like any of them. >.< 23: Fierce Fairytales: Poems and Stories To Stir Your Soul Author: Nikita Gill Genre: Poetry Rating: 3 stars Reviewed: No I’m suspecting she’s just not the poet for me. I’m not a fan of this free-form word-vomit style at all, and I can’t stop feeling like her poetry is a little shallow – like she doesn’t really believe what she’s saying but really wants to. Maybe she does. I’m just saying I don’t feel it. We all know I love fairytales, but this felt like a chore and…

    March Reads & Other Updates

So, I didn’t do a lot of reading last month. For anyone who missed it, I’m back in my writing chair and juggling three projects (the poetry book and two paranormal projects and I’m having a blast), and I also decided to stop making to-do lists because frankly, I don’t care how much I get done anymore. Lately, caring has made me less productive, because I get stressed and then curl into a ball and do nothing. This isn’t to say I don’t give myself reminders. I still need those. And I also still have a TBR of books I want to read soon-ish, but that isn’t stressful. It’s flexible,…
