    Mini Reading Challenges

I’m thinking of doing themed reading challenges next year. I think it’ll be fun. I wanted to do that this year, but I didn’t take the time to figure out how I actually wanted to do it. I watched these videos over the weekend of someone picking their TBR out of a jar. Basically, she would have something like, “a blue book” or “a book on someone else’s TBR” and use those prompts to help her narrow down which books she wants to read each month. I don’t want to do that with each book, but I think I’m going to take a cue from her and put themes in…

    Life & Lemons

I give up. I’ve been trying to write a post about why I don’t want to talk about writing, but I think I’ll just be straightforward. It has nothing to do with the state of the world. I had a long overdue public meltdown about writing crap at the beginning of the year. Though, honestly, while I know it isn’t true, I’ve been feeling very much like I’m not allowed to be upset about anything. This mentality might actually be making everything worse. So here I am. Complaining about writing again. I’m not apologizing for it. There are a lot of things I’m dealing with right now. I’d rather not…

    September 2020 Reads

Hiya! 😀 Wrapping things up at the very end of the month! Find excitement in the little things, right? 😛 I’m only ten books from my 2020 Reading Goal. I have a few longer books I want to read that I’ll probably get started on in November, but I’m surprised this is turning out to be a great reading year. I was pretty sure I was going to come up short after only finishing one short story between April, May, and June. And I was okay with that. I don’t set reading goals to stress myself. I set them to make sure I’m prioritizing something that’s important to me. I…

    Random Life: Bookish Chat

Hi! Welcome. I’m going to be a little random today. ^_^ I’m still working on getting some miscellaneous things organized, but my office is almost done, what I’m calling the art room is almost done, and I have a pile of random stuff in the kitchen and one more picture to hang, that I need a frame for, and then I’ll be done! I cannot wait. I’m used to having clutter on my dining table, so it isn’t really bothering me, but I still want to clear it off. For some reason I really want September to be over. I just feel like it’s lasting forever. Am I the only…

    LibraryOffice Update

Hello! ^_^ So before I get to the photos, I wanted to talk a little bit about what I ended up doing. Originally, I wanted an entire wall filled with shelves, not quite going up to the ceiling because I’m short, along with a basic desk with a drawer or two to house my ridiculous pen collection. I considered custom shelving, but as my budget for everything changed multiple times over the moving process, I looked into other options while I was making up my mind. So, first, IKEA. I like their Billy shelves, they look good, but I really wanted gray shelves, so it was a compromise from the…
