Author Swag: Show & Tell

I have pictures! So, I’m going to throw up the collage and then talk about it. ๐Ÿ˜€

This is a picture of the items I’m giving away to celebrate the release of WINTER’S SIREN on the 1st of November.

In the top left corner we have keychains. I found these on Etsy. There are lots of talented people there who can make large and small orders of keychains, ranging from $1 a piece to $20. These particular ones were 5 for $15, making them effectively $3 a piece. The one with the rose is the official giveaway keychain. I don’t know what I’m going to do with the others. I’m keeping one, obviously, but I’m thinking I might smuggle a keychain or two into giveaway or early review copies.

In the next box we have a feather pen and the inside of a notebook. Since I wanted to do a notebook, I thought it would be cool to include a pen. As I’m dealing with a Swan Lake retelling, I went with a feather, of course! It’s a ball point pen, because not everyone is nerdy enough to have a bottle of ink at home. (haha) I wanted a white feather to match the one on the cover, but I couldn’t find one that was reasonable priced AND had the look I wanted. Black is next best choice because if you know anything about the ballet, you know there’s a white and black swan, and the black swan is the fun one. ๐Ÿ˜€

Beside this is a notebook with my book cover on the front! I thought it turned out really well, and I was lucky to stumble into an email from Shutterfly offering 50% off. Honestly, I rather have free shipping, but half off is still really nice, obviously.

Next, we have Grimm’s Complete Fairy Tales. This is one of the Barnes & Noble Editions. I don’t quite consider this to be part of my budget as this was an extra copy I had. I was going to give this to a friend, but back in the spring when I started thinking about swag for NO REST FOR THE WICKED, I thought it would make a good giveaway, so I held on to it for this book, sinceย Swan Lakeย is essentially based on an old folktale, and WINTER’S SIREN has a dark fairy tale feel to it.

The first picture on the bottom row are my book marks! I have three two-sided bookmarks that I got from Overnight Prints. I picked them because the minimum is only 25 and the prices range from $5 to $8. They were all designed by my cover designer, and I love them! The first one is vertical to match my book cover, and the back just has my author site and blog addresses. The second book mark has my teaser images and text on them. And the third is a horizontal design. I’ll also be giving these away with the Goodreads giveaway copies.

The last picture is of a cupcake candle! The actual giveaway candle is a chocolate brownie with frosting and caramel drizzle. I also found these on Etsy for $4.75 at shop called Woodcrafts and Candles. The seller had them wrapped up so nice, so the one pictured is the cinnamon coffee one I got for myself, and it smells like a cinnamon dolce frappucino! So good. ^_^ In the book, the characters talk about a chocolate chip brownie a couple of times, so I thought it would be fun to get a brownie-scented candle.

I realize that anthology is super heavy, but he good news is, I remembered to budget for shipping this time. So far, the number of things I’ve forgotten about or messed up this go around have been fairly minimal. ๐Ÿ˜›

In other news, in case you missed it, I’m running a giveaway for WINTER’S SIREN. This first giveaway ends on Saturday, but I’m running another two week giveaway on the first, along with a giveaway for my last copy of NO REST FOR THE WICKED.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think!ย ๐Ÿ˜€
