Writing Update & Other Such Stuff

Hi. 🙂

News time! 😀 So, I finished the final read through and revisions for WHISPER on Sunday! (waits for cheers to die down) 😛

Here’s what else is going on. For one, I decided to do a Goodreads giveaway and scheduled one in at the $59 price so I can see if it’s worth it. I think it starts the first of March or the third. I don’t know. LOL! Book can be found here if it’s not on your shelf already. Starting March 9th, I’m also doing a month long listing on NetGalley through Xpresso Tours. It’s a co-op thing, where I can list my book under their account without having to fiddle with the platform myself. If you don’t know what NetGalley is, it’s a place where people can go and request a free copy of books to review. I’ve been wanting to try it, so I’ll let you guys know how it goes. O.O

My original goal was to be done with everything by the end of this week. Haha. I don’t have too much left to do – just collecting excerpts for launch day posts and maybe making a Spotify playlist if it’s not too stressful – so maybe. 🙂 I was going to do something different for launch week, but I decided to do a blitz with Xpresso again because I like them. It runs for 5 days. If you want to sign up sometime that week and spread some bookish love, I’ll put a link and clickable banner below.

In new project news, I’m not quite ready to start the story. I’m recovered from being burnt out, as far as I can tell, but I don’t want to rush into another project like immediately. And before I jump into anything, I want to do at least a little bit of official plotting. As of today, I’ve still done none of that. I was going to do it while I was doing the final edits and such, but I didn’t want to divide my attention between projects too much. I didn’t have enough brainpower for it, I think. I like doing final revisions, but I need to be able to focus.

In any case, I really want to just chill the rest of the month. I typically need a small break between projects, and I need time to get the rest of my launch stuff together. Plus reading. Plus catching up on some stuff I want to watch on Netflix. ^_^

In other news, WINTER’S SIREN was reviewed yesterday at With Love For Books. There’s also an interview. ^_^

sign up here – spread bookish love ^_^

I’m signed up! I’m curious what you’ll have to say about Netgalley. I use them sometimes and was always curious if it’s worth it on the author end. Have a happy break! You earned it 🙂

Yes, update on NetGalley, and also tell us if the $59 at Goodreads was worth it! I did a couple giveaways for free a number of years ago, and while I suppose it did generate a lot of exposure in terms of getting people to add it to their “want to read” shelves”, for me, it didn’t translate into a lot more sales/ratings/reviews. But something is better than nothing, I guess? And now I have to go check out their other options because I didn’t even know there WERE other options other than the basic model. Oops.

Definitely! I’ve never actually looked at the Goodreads giveaway page, but maybe the more expensive option offers more visibility?
