UtopYA Con 2014 & Book Haul!

Before I left for the weekend, I had a mini field day and pick up some $3 books at the local Hastings!

Dark Vengeance Vols 1 & 2 by Jeff Mariotte, Mystic by Alyson Noel, and The Vampire Academy Trilogy by Richelle Mead. I’ve been meaning to get Dark Vengeance for a while and I’ve been meaning to watch Vampire Academy for awhile. Mystic was an impulse buy, but it sounds really interesting. ^_^

Next stop, UtopYA Con where I picked up even more BOOKS!

utopya 2014 (10)From Left to Right: Shayne Leighton: Of Light and Darkness & The Vampire’s Reflection (also happens to be one of my most favorite people that I met at the conference! Someone I absolutely HAD to talk to because she knows my writing buddy! I’ve been meaning to get my hands on that first book for over a year.) — Bailey Ardisone: Sweet Requiem Book 3 in the Sweet Series (And she is the sweetest person ever — another one of my favorite authors though I didn’t talk to her much because she was one of the first people I met.) — PK Hrezo: Butterman (Time) Travel, Inc. (a book that’s been on my TBR list for a while. She had some pretty awesome bookmark swag at her table.) — Devri Walls: Wings of Arian (I didn’t know her, but she was super cool and she also had some pretty awesome swag.) — L.A. Weatherly: Angel Burn (this book was FREE in my bag and it sounds really awesome!)

utopya 2014 (4)Next Up: Nely Cab: Creatura (one of those books I had to pick up because the cover is so freaking stunning! Lucky me, the blurb sounded really interesting as well! ^_^) — Anna Kyss: Cerulean & Wings of Shadow (She was super nice, plus the books aren’t too long and it’s always nice to pick up some great sounding shorter reads!) — Keary Taylor: Branded (Super cool. She was on a couple of the panels I went to, and I love her writing process. Plus she gave me the book for half off so that’s always awesome!) — C.J. Redwine: Defiance & Query (I will be doing a review of this query book! This is an author I’ve been stalking, so I was super excited to see her at the conference! And this was a great time to finally pick up her book and get it signed!)

utopya 2014 (5)Next: Gennifer Albin: Crewel (Another great opportunity to get a book signed by an author I half stalk. Lol! She is just so incredibly awesome, and I’m so very glad I got to hear her keynote because it’s seriously one of the best keynotes ever. I wish I had been recording it.) — Jen McConnel: Daughter of Chaos (I didn’t get a chance to meet her, but this book has been on the TBR list since before it even came out so I couldn’t leave without it.) — C.C. Hunter: Reborn (Another author I missed, but I couldn’t turn down a book that takes place at Supernatural Camp!) — Jadie Jones: Moonlit & Windswept (She was at Shayne’s table and she the third person on the top 3 list of the favoritest people that I met at the conference. She and Shayne both were so nice to me, and I talked to them both quite a bit. I will definitely be keeping in touch with the both of them. She also gave me her second book for free!! Like, so freaking nice, and they sound right up my alley!)

I don’t fan girl much. I usually don’t say anything at all for fear of rambling. Lol! I’m sure many, many people thought I was very, very strange. Lol!

Apparently the theme was Aliens, so of course I had to get some pictures of some Alien Swag! The one on the right is the back of my awesomefied t-shirt! I also got a cd of 7 ebooks FREE from Jo Michaels, and she was also really nice and energetic and bubbly.

Before I left, I hung up my new floating bookshelf and now it is already almost at max capacity. Lol! But I’m in for a lot of fun reading ahead! Isn’t it just soo pretty! ^_^

utopya 2014 (9)

Hopefully, I have some reviews coming! As well as a more detailed post about the panels I went to and which ones I liked the best and the least and what not. In the meantime, I’m finally reading my copy of HEXED by Michelle Krys, and I am really liking it so far. Though I’m sure some of that has to do with the fact that this reads like something I would write, and I must be thinking I’m pretty awesome right now. Lol! ^_^

I also got a lot of fun bookmarks, necklaces, buttons, stickers, temporary tatoos, pens, and bracelets. And I met a couple of bloggers as well, so yeah, I had a really good time. ^_^

  1. I would not have been able to bypass $3 books! I buy books for 2.99 on Amazon, but there’s nothing like having that hard copy with you and all those covers, they are gorgeous.

A collection like you got would cost me a fortune.

    Sounds like you had fun!

    • I can’t turn down a pretty cover! Lol! Yeah, I limited myself to how many books I was allowed to buy. Basically, since I’m socially awkward, I said I could buy anything I wanted bad enough to ask for. ^_^

    • I totally hope you can get it worked out soon! You would love it. This was only my second conference. The other one was literally 10 minutes from my house and one day so I had to go. Lol!

      Reward?! Awesome! Thank you! ^_^

Hi! ^_^
