Writing Journey

WIPMarathon Intro

For those of you don’t know about it, information about the WIPMarathon can be found here.

Marathon Goal: Halfway done, so about 40,000 words, but I want closer to 65,000. I have the entire last week of the month off so…maybe? Lol!

Stage of Writing: (When I started late the night of August 1st) Completely new story without a stitch on it. Blank slate. I was so excited to get words on the page! Going in I had a brief baby outline and a plot summary and a whole mess of notes to get me started. And also a working title: How Deep Is My Darkness.

What inspired my current project: I have no idea. Lol! A few months ago, a friend was telling me what I should try writing about and I really didn’t think much of it. Both because I had other projects I was working on and because I didn’t think it was up my alley. But turns out, I was wrong, not even a week later I started getting an idea and it built from there. It’s kind of a paranormalish horror love story with supernatural elements. šŸ™‚ And I’ve found some awesome sculptures of Cupid & Psyche on the Metropolitan Art Museum’s website that’s serving as pretty good inspirational fodder.

What might slow down my marathon goal: Distractions. (TV, Internet, iPad Games) Not getting up with my alarm clock.

This marathon has really jump started my story. I can’t wait to see what kind of progress I have on it by the end of the week!
